Don’t forget a whistle to signal for help if you’re trapped, as well as a dust mask to protect yourself from debris. A battery-powered radio and flashlight with extra batteries will keep you informed and allow you to navigate your surroundings.

Shelter and Warmth

In the aftermath of an earthquake, you may need to shelter in place for an extended period. Consider storing a tent, sleeping bag, and warm blankets to keep you and your family members safe and comfortable. A portable stove or camping grill can provide a means of cooking food, while a portable toilet and hand sanitizer can maintain personal hygiene. Remember to check your emergency supplies regularly to ensure they are still usable and not expired.
