Hunting Realities

In reality, elk hunting often takes place at close to medium distances (150-250 yards), where the 180gr Partition performs exceptionally well. At these ranges, it’s possible to achieve 95% weight retention and 90% kinetic energy. For hunting larger elk, this performance is often sufficient. However, for longer shots, other bullet options may be more effective.

Real-World Experience

Experienced elk hunters have reported success with the 180gr Partition at longer distances, but these shots often rely on well-placed broadsides or quartering-away shots.
