Hypothermia can cause confusion, disorientation, and impaired judgment, making it difficult for the individual to follow the protocol. In these situations, additional measures such as providing warmth, shelter, and medical attention may be necessary to prevent further harm.

Insufficient Training or Knowledge

The STOP protocol relies on the individual’s ability to follow and understand the instructions. If the individual is not familiar with the protocol or has not received proper training, it may not be effective. This can be particularly problematic in situations where the individual is not a trained professional, such as in cases of domestic violence or workplace violence. In these situations, additional training and resources may be necessary to ensure effective response and mitigation.
