Maintenance and Sanitation

To maintain a dew collection system, backpackers should regularly inspect the surface for signs of contamination or damage. The system should be cleaned and disinfected regularly to prevent the growth of bacteria and other microorganisms. A ratio of 1 part bleach to 10 parts water is recommended for disinfecting the collection container and any other equipment.
