Can You Build a Hot Compost Bin from Pallets?

Gathering Materials and Tools

To build a hot compost bin from pallets, you will need 8-10 pallets, 2" wood screws, a drill, a saw, and a jigsaw. Start by disassembling the pallets and separating the wooden planks. You will need 4-6 of the largest planks for the bin’s frame and 2-3 for the lid.

Building the Frame and Bin

Assemble the frame by screwing the largest planks together, forming a square or rectangular shape. Make sure the corners are secure and the frame is sturdy.
