Antibiotics like cephalexin or amoxicillin can help prevent infection, but only use them as directed by a medical professional. Blister care is also essential to prevent infection and promote healing. Apply a blister pad or moleskin to the affected area and cover with a bandage.

Additional Supplies and Techniques

In addition to the above items, a prepper medical kit should include basic first aid supplies, such as bandages, gloves, and scissors. A water purification system, like a LifeStraw or water purification tablets, is also essential to prevent waterborne illnesses. Know how to use a defibrillator, like an AED (Automated External Defibrillator), and have one in your kit. Basic splinting techniques, like the “figure-four” splint, can help stabilize broken limbs.
