Is there an application fee for submitting to Pope & Young?

Eligibility and Submission

To submit a trophy to the Pope & Young Club, you must first ensure it meets their eligibility criteria. This includes being harvested in a state or province where the species is managed, and being taken with a legal bow and arrow. The bow must be a self-contained, single-stringed, horizontal-limb bow, and any broadhead must have a minimum of two, 7/8-inch wide cutting edges.

Measuring and Documentation

Measure your trophy accurately and carefully, using the Pope & Young Club’s measurement guidelines. Record the length, spread, and weight of the antlers, as well as the location and date of harvest. Include any additional documentation, such as a notarized affidavit from a witness to the hunt. This will help the Club verify the authenticity of the trophy and ensure it meets their standards.

Processing and Review

Once your trophy has been submitted, it will be reviewed by the Pope & Young Club’s measuring team. They will verify the accuracy of your measurements and documentation, and award a official score if your trophy meets their standards. The Club uses a complex scoring system, with points awarded for various characteristics such as tine length, beam width, and mass. The goal is to provide a fair and transparent evaluation of your trophy, and to recognize the skill and dedication that went into harvesting it.
