Look for areas with a mix of short-grass fields and taller vegetation, as these provide ideal environments for doves to forage and roost. During the early season, it’s not uncommon to see doves flying as low as 10-20 feet above the ground, often in a straight line or following a slight curve. Take note of the time of day, as doves tend to fly more frequently during the late morning and early afternoon.

Decoy Spreads and Shooting Techniques
